Wyoming’s Little League District-1 All-Star Tournament Holds its Opening Ceremonies

The Wyoming Little League District-1 All-Star Tournament held its Opening Ceremonies at Milward L. Simpson Stadium on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022. The tournament featured eight teams from Western Wyoming in the 10U Division, and 9 teams from the 12U Division.

10U teams represent the top players from eight Little League programs: Big Horn Little League (Lovell, Cowley, Greybull, Byron), Bridger Valley Little League (Ft Bridger, Lyman, Mountain View)

While Cody Little League hosted the event, the following teams attended as well: Green River Little League, Lander Little League, Powell Little League, Riverton Little League, and Rock Springs Little League.

Nine All-Star teams compete for the 12U Division, which includes Big Horn LL, Bridger Valley LL, Cody LL, Green River LL, Kemmerer Little League, Lander LL, Powell LL, Riverton LL, and Rock Springs LL.

Eleven Umpires from District 1 in Wyoming and 1 Umpire from District 30 (Orange County) in California, are set to officiate the Tournament: Eric Quinney of Bridger Valley, David Lewis of California, Brett Stutzman of Powell, Marty Bratt of Lander, Jason Sumya of Big Horn, Alex Smith of Powell, Bob Draper of Rock Springs, Joe Bond of Big Horn, Michael Welch of Cody, Bryson Quinney of Bridger Valley, Tyler Byrd of Big horn, and Cody Beers of Riverton.

Wyoming District 1 Administer Donny Anderson of Cody presided over the Tournament with Event Coordinator Sherri Machen.

Big Horn Radio Network’s National Anthem Contest winner performed the National Anthem, singer and songwriter Jimmy Rush.

The Tournament lasts throughout the weekend and the top two teams will advance to the State Little League Tournament in Gillette.
