Dubois-area erosion control project to protect U.S. 26/287

A $398,000 erosion control project is nearly complete south of Dubois.  The scope of work included placement of large rock and fence replacement along the Big Wind River, including seeding/erosion control, grading, traffic control and clearing/grubbing adjacent to U.S. Highway 26/287 south of Dubois. Prime contractor is Avail Valley Construction, LLC, of Afton. “Seeding and erosion control work will wrap up the project next spring,” said Wyoming Department of Transportation project engineer Baylor Beers of Riverton. Contract completion date is May 31, 2026.

The Cody Fillies Basketball team goes to Casper for the inaugural Compete Casper Classic. The tournament is from Thursday, December 11th, through Saturday, December 13th. Troopers Track Down Alleged Kidnappers, Save Teen Girl

[Cheyenne, WY] — December 1, 2025 A Wisconsin teen is safe after Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) troopers track down her alleged kidnappers. On Saturday, November 29th, troopers responded to a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) alert for a missing female minor. She was allegedly traveling with a 20-year old male wanted on drug charges out of Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Wyoming 120 highway project work suspended until spring south of Meeteetse

Completion of an $8.24 million highway improvement project will occur next spring on Wyoming 120 between Meeteetse and the Gooseberry Rest Area. The project begins at milepost 38.086 (just north of the Gooseberry Rest Area) and extends 13.3 miles north to milepost 51.385 on the south edge of Meeteetse (Highland Street). Semi-truck Driver Arrested After Road Rage Event

[Cheyenne, WY] — November 24, 2025 A semi-truck driver is in custody after an alleged road rage incident on I-80 roughly 20 miles east of Rawlins on Thursday, November 20th. According to investigating troopers, a Ram pickup was westbound on I-80, and passing a semi-truck near mile marker 236. As this was happening, the semi-truck driver allegedly brandished a firearm, pointed it out the driver-side window, pointed it at the pickup and fired the weapon multiple times. Bighorn National Forest temporarily closes Cutler Nordic Ski trails for safety during trail improvements

Sheridan, Wyo., November 24, 2025—Bighorn National Forest staff are temporarily closing Cutler Nordic Ski trails off Highway 14 north of Dayton, Wyoming, for blasting on Nov. 25. For the safety of employees and visitors, please avoid the area until operations are complete. The work will improve public access and trail conditions for grooming by removing rock and other debris from the trail corridor.
