Century-Old Cross L7 Homestead Secures Legacy Through Conservation Easement

Cody, WY – Park County Open Lands has finalized its fifth conservation easement, permanently protecting the 173-acre Cross L7 Homestead. Bighorn Canyon is excited to continue the program.  We enjoy the new perspectives and amazing works artist share with the park and visitors. The park is looking for two artists to participate and continue creating in 2026. Applications for the 2026 Artist In Residence program are being requested December 2, 2025, through January 31, 2026. Bighorn Canyon NRA Preparing for Winter

Lake facilities at Bighorn Canyon are winterized, but the park is far from closed. Bighorn Canyon offers wonderful year-round boating, fishing, hiking, and educational opportunities.  The courtesy docks at Barry’s Landing, and Ok-A-Beh will remain in the water in the water until the lake starts to freeze. Ice is starting to form at Horseshoe Bend.  The courtesy docks have been removed.  The ice at Horseshoe Bend is not thick enough for ice fishing.    The water and electric at the Horseshoe Bend and Afterbay Campground has been shut off. Riverton man sentenced to 210 months’ imprisonment for distribution of child pornography

United States Attorney Darin Smith announced today that Luke Everrett David, 25, of Riverton, Wyoming, was sentenced to 210 months’ imprisonment with 10 years of supervised release for the distribution of child pornography. U.S. District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl imposed the sentence on Dec. 4 in Casper.According to court documents, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) received eight CyberTip reports between December 2024 and March 2025. The 2025-26 Cody High School Wrestling Season Begins December 12th

The Cody Broncs begin the season in Powell, while the Fillies will start in Cody. The Fillies have 13 girls this season, the most the team has had since Girls’ wrestling was sanctioned in 2022. Senior Ashton Hubbs leads the team and is trying for her 3rd straight State Title. Senior Louella Cornell is also a strong contender, having been on the Podium in 2025.
