Lady Warrior Wrestlers Make Wyoming History

Four Worland High School Lady Warrior Wrestlers make history.
Seniors Katie Emmett and Lecsi Ramirez. Juniors Rivers Carrell and Rylee Anderson.
The inaugural Wyoming High School Girls State Wrestling Tournament was this past Thursday and Friday at the Wyoming Ford Center in Casper.
In the 125 lb weight class Rylee Anderson made the Quarter Finals.
Rylee lost to the number 1 ranked wrestler Laynee Walker of Kemmerer, Walker finished 3rd.
At the 135 lb weight class Katie Emmett finished 1-2, both of her losses were to the number 3 ranked Paityn Covolo from Sheridan who finished 4th.
Rivers Carrell is one of the first 28 girls to wrestle for a Wyoming High School Girls Wrestling State Championship.
Carrell wrestled Gold All-American, number 1 ranked, Teila Peters from Buffalo but lost by Fall.
Rivers would finish a Runner-Up and an All-State Honor.
Senior Lecsi Ramirez made history and wrestled in the first-ever Wyoming High School Girls Wrestling State Championship at the 140 lb weight class.
Lecsi would also earn All-State Honors.
The success of the Lady Warrior wrestlers will lay a foundation for future Stars in Wyoming Girls Wrestling.
