38th Annual Art Sale This Week

Written by on September 16, 2019

The 38th Annual Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale is happening this week.

Along with the live and silent auction on Friday night, an entire week’s worth of activities are scheduled to celebrate Western art and artisans, as part of the annual Rendezvous Royale.

Laurel Thompson and Kathy Thompson coordinate the annual art show. Kathy Thompson, the art show director, calls this year’s compilation of master works, currently hanging in the John Bunker Sands gallery at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, “stunning.”

A number of round town events this week invite the public to participate in the celebration, including painting demonstrations, hands-on workshops with artists, book signings, live music and refreshments at downtown businesses, and educational lectures throughout the week, with an Art Walk Thursday evening.

The week will culminate with the live auction at the Center of the West Friday night, the Quick Draw Saturday morning, and the Patrons Ball Saturday night. A complete schedule of events is available on the website rendezvousroyale.org.
