The tradition continues.
The 38th annual Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale officially opens this Thursday, August 22nd, with a reception at the John Bunker Sands gallery at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.
The Art Show is the result of months’ worth of work by the Art Show staff, Kathy Thompson and Laurel Thompson, according to Tina Hoebelheinrich, Executive Director of the Cody Chamber of Commerce. She points out that the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale is possibly the only show in the country that features only living artists; and adds that the show offers $40,000 in prize money.
Although the wall sale of miniature works, called the Scout show, has been hanging in the breezeway at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West since June, the opening of the Buffalo Bill Art Show will be this Thursday. There will be a ribbon cutting at 6 p.m., which is free to the public, and the show winners will be announced at that time.
The Buffalo Bill Art Show will hang at the museum until the Sale on September 20th.
