A controversial figure in the drama surrounding South Big Horn County Hospital in the last year has resigned.
Hospital administrator John Adlesich submitted his resignation last week. According to the Basin Republican-Rustler, the South Big Horn County Hospital District board met for a brief executive session last Wednesday, then voted unanimously to accept Adelsich’s resignation.
In an interview with KODI News last Tuesday, Adlesich commented that he would be moving back to Oregon to be closer to his family. His last day will be the end of April.
South Big Horn County Hospital has been at the center of controversy in the community, with high staff turnover and unsatisfactory care reported by many residents since Adlesich came aboard two years ago. The community has also expressed their displeasure with several of the board members, culminating in the presentation in January of a signed petition asking for the resignation of three members of the board.
However, in a statement, Adlesich commented that he is proud of all that has been accomplished under his tenure, praising the employees and health care providers at South Big Horn County Hospital.
