An Arizona man who was arrested near Cody in February for driving a stolen U-Haul truck containing stolen goods has been sentenced by a Federal Judge.

Chief Federal District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced 25-year-old Austin James Kelly on September 5th for possession of a stolen firearm.

Kelly was arrested in Park County on February 27, after a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper smelled marijuana in the cab of the vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to a Highway Patrol statement, a search warrant executed on the vehicle turned up a loaded pistol, prescription drugs, marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and drug packaging.  Also discovered was what appeared to be stolen tobacco products, power tools, jewelry, clothing, watches, knives, and coins.

Kelly received time served to be followed by thirty-six months of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment.
