Art Show and Sale Successful

The Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale is over for another year.
The 37th annual event brought scores of visitors to Cody, and hundreds of thousands of dollars that will go to support the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and the Cody Chamber of Commerce, as well as to the artists themselves.
At the live auction Friday night, winning bids ranged from $900 to $31,000, with the highest bid going to a Michael Untied painting. The total amount raised during the weekend’s events won’t be known for a few days, but Center of the West Executive Director Bruce Eldredge said Friday night he expected the results would be similar to last year.
This year’s event is significant for Eldredge, as he will be retiring later this year. He said that he and his wife Jan have promised the Art Show Director that they will come back to volunteer at future shows.
103 artists participated in the 2018 Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale, in either the live auction, silent auction, or the quick draw that took place Saturday morning.
