Beartooth Highway Will See Limited Opening Tomorrow

The Beartooth Highway is set to open tomorrow – partially.
According to the Montana Department of Transportation, the Beartooth Highway from Red Lodge, Montana, to the Wyoming state line will open May 25. However, the highway from the Wyoming state line to Cooke City, Montana, won’t be open until June 1st at 8 a.m. The road was scheduled to open tomorrow as well, but officials say a significant snowpack led to plowing delays.
According to the Wyoming Department of Transportation, precipitation at Beartooth Lake between January and April of this year ranged from 113 to 181 percent of normal.
