Big Horn Basin Making Global Economic Connections

Park County’s economy is making some global connections.
Earlier this month, several businesses in Cody and Powell were visited by the State of Wyoming’s Asia Pacific Trade Office Director, Chester Chu. Chu was recently appointed to the role that intends to build trade connections between Park County businesses and the country of Taiwan.
Amy Quick is the regional director for the Wyoming Business Council. She says that Chu came to the Big Horn Basin to assist in coordinating import-export opportunities with businesses such as Murraymere farms and GF Harvest out of Powell, as well as Cody Coffee Roasters.
Delegations from Wyoming that have made trips to Taiwan to research trade options have represented the beef industry, gluten-free oats, breweries, and other industries.
Quick says that for those businesses that are interested in exploring opportunities with Asia, there are some grants and other funding options available through the Business Council.
