Billing Error Concerns Some West Park Hospital Patients

A computer error has caused concern for some patients of West Park Hospital.
A billing system error through the hospital’s vendor, Meditech, has caused some patients to be charged more for physician office visits. Public Relations Director Ashley Trudo says bills are being sent to the insurance plan, but are being placed on the patient statement before a response is received from the insurance companies.
Larry Ekdahl, West Park Hospital Patient Financial Director, says that until the issue is resolved at MediTech, they have decided to place all physician office statements on hold. He points out that this is not a West Park Hospital system issue that can be resolved locally.
The hospital is thanking those affected by this error for their patience and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
