Bronc Swim with 23 Lifetime Bests, Over the Weekend
Written by Cole Havens on January 10, 2022
The Cody Broncs Swim and Dive team was back in action over the weekend hosting Riverton, for a dual, on Friday and were in Powell for the Dozah Invite on Saturday.
The weekend provided 23 lifetime best times between Friday and Saturday.
Additional 6 season best times
2 NEW state qualifiers: William Law & Jonah Woods (each in the 100 breast)
New state qualifying times: Bradley McKenzie in the 100 back, Joseph Killpack in the 100 breast
Five out of nine Broncs have qualified for State.
According to Head Coach Emily Swett “I think that the team is in a great spot after Christmas break. They really worked hard over the last 3 weeks, and it was evident as the team competed in its first two meets of the year. Hard to believe that we are less than a month away from Conference and just over a month from state! I can’t wait to see what these boys continue to accomplish in the pool.”
And now taking a look at some of the weekends results…
As a team Riverton would take Friday’s Dual garnering 91 points to Cody’s 81.
Bradley Fick, Bradley McKenzie and Joseph Killack would each win two events on Friday. Fick won the 200 and 500 free, McKenzie won the IM and Breastroke and Killpack won the Fly and Backstroke.
On Saturday, the Broncs would finish 5th out of 6 at the Dozah Invite.
Killpack was 4th in the 200 yard IM and 4th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Fick was 3rd in the 50 yard free and 4th in the 100 Yard Fly.
McKenzie was 4th in the 100 Yard Free
Bronc Swim is back in action Saturday, January 18th, at Worland.
