Bronc Tennis Eager for Playoffs
Written by Cole Havens on September 17, 2020
It was another stellar year for the Cody Tennis teams. The Broncs finished the season with a 7-3 overall record. Now they get set for postseason play. Cody will host the Conference tournament this weekend. For the Broncs, one of their best teams all season has been the Number 1 Doubles group of Solomon Stewart and Hayden Demaranville. From this time last year to now, Bronc Tennis has made incredible strides and Solomon on the reasoning behind the turnaround.
“I think we’re a lot deeper. We have a lot more experience at each position. And the guys who are at the same position have just gotten a lot more solid, a lot more experience in all areas and then all the new guys are really showing up and playing really well in their positions right now.”
And Hayden goes on to talk about if those winning ways are going to continue, the work at practice this week is crucial.
“Just focus. We do a really good job of fighting but sometimes we get wrapped up in our emotions. We just need to focus up, focus on our strokes and just play the game. Just footwork and focus. Those are really the only two things that we’re lacking a little bit right now. We’ve shown up big last year and I believe we can do it again for sure.”
You can catch the Cody Tennis teams in action this week as they host the Conference Tournament. Competitions gets underway Friday and Saturday.
