Over back-to-back weeks now, the Cody American Legion baseball Single-A team is doing another tournament among Montana. This time around, the varsity Cubs go to the Belgrade Bandits Boys of Summer Invitational today through at least Saturday. The top duo of gangs from six units overall coming off some round-robin-type clashes have a tourney championship tilt with eachother by Sunday at high noon.
Cody’s varsity will be up versus a minimum of four of the five additional crews at the event – all from Big Sky Country there, initially against hometown Belgrade’s split squad/B group on this Thursday afternoon. Come Friday by around the same time, these particular Cubbies hit the diamond with – again, actually – the Bitterroot Red Sox of the Hamilton area who’ve won Montana’s A State crown the past three campaigns. By the following night, Cody wraps that third day of the tournament versus the fellow-Single-A Glacier Twins from Whitefish on that early evening as well as the host Bandits’ varsity club in consecutive games.
