Austin-based musician Jeff Plankenhorn returns to Cody on December 9th at the Colonel Venue and Cigar Lounge.  Jeff spoke about how he became a musician, rising through the ranks to be a sought-after guitar player in Austin and how he stumbled onto a solo career at 43.  

Rene Huge, Gallery Director at the Cody Country Art League, spoke about current exhibits that are on display as well as which artists will be featured in December.  She also spoke about art classes for all ages and how to support the Cody Art League.  

Martin Kimmet, Park County GOP Chairman, and Vince Vanata, State Committeeman and District 5 Representative, spoke about the results of the mid-term elections, President Trump’s announcement that he is running for president again, and the State Meeting that was held in Casper.  

Karen Horner, Park County Library Director, spoke the ribbon cutting for the new outreach van as well as the latest on the new Powell library project.  She also spoke about the Library Foundation Winter Author Fest that’s coming up and the Grinch will visit the library and spread his Christmas cheer….as only the Grinch can.…

It’s a Christmas theme on SYP! Janie Curtis, owner of the Cody Santa Con Brew Fest, and Harold Wages and Nick Martin from Toys for Tots spoke about upcoming events, why people should donate and who in the community is helped by donations.  

Aura Sunada Newlin, Interim Director of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation, spoke about the re-release of the ground-breaking book by Douglas Nelson titled “Heart Mountain: The History of an American Concentration Camp.”  The book was originally released in 1968, but the updated edition includes a new chapter about the history of the Heart Mountain Wyoming…

Cody Beers, Public Relations Specialist for WyDOT, spoke about a tractor trailer that had slid off the road on Highway 120 between Cody and Meeteetse, also he talked about the Big Horn Avenue project as well as answer the questions of why is WyDOT down so many snow plow drivers.
