Census Data Makes a Difference

It’s time to stand up and be counted.
That’s the message from Park County Clerk Colleen Renner, who is heading up a group that will spread awareness of the importance of participating in next year’s Census, which will begin in April of 2020.
The U.S. Constitution requires that each decade the agency takes a count of America’s population. Renner points out that the census determines how many representatives each state gets in Congress, and is used to redraw district boundaries, among other actions.
Information gathered by the Census Bureau will also help communities plan for a variety of residents’ needs including new roads, schools, and emergency services.
