Cody Basketball State Tournament Preview: The Time is Now
Written by Cole Havens on March 8, 2023
For the first time in this senior classes history both the Cody Bronc and Filly Basketball teams will be a the State Tournament, together. The Fillies enter State undefeated on the season, a perfect 22-0. The Fillies are coming off a Regional Tournament title and are hoping 3rd times the charm. The last two years the Fillies have finished as runner-ups at State. As they get set for this title run I caught up with Head Coach Chris Wagner for a little preview. The Fillies have both Campbell County and Cheyenne East on their side of the bracket and Coach talks the mentality heading into State.
As for the Cody Broncs, they head to state for the first time in this senior classes career. The Broncs clinched the No. 4 seed for the State Tourney. They enter the weekend with a 13-10 overall record. And the Broncs aren’t just excited to be there. They know there’s more that can be accomplished. I also caught up with Jay McCarten for a little preview. Coach on what it means to get to State.
Both the Cody Basketball teams will be in Casper all weekend for the Class 4A State Basketball Championship Tournament. Every Cody Basketball game will be broadcast live on KODI.
