THE CODY CUBS TRAVELED TO COWLEY WEDNESDAY NIGHT TO TAKE ON THE LOVELL MUSTANGS IN A DOUBLE HEADER WHERE THEY WOULD GET ANOTHER SWEEP EXTENDING THE WIN STREAK TO 7.

IN GAME 1, IT WAS THE ACE FOR THE CUBS, JACKSON SCHROEDER ON THE MOUND. SCHROEDER WOULD GO ALL 5 INNINGS ALLOWING JUST 1 HIT AND 0 RUNS ON 8 STRIKEOUTS.

THE OFFENSE WAS ABLE TO BACK HIM UP WITH 10 HITS WITH 6 OF THEM COMING IN THE FIRST 2 INNINGS. JARED GRENZ WAS APART OF THAT EQUATION HITTING A 2 RUN HOME-RUN AND A DOUBLE IN HIS FIRST 2 TIMES AT THE PLATE HELPING THEM GET THE 14 TO NOTHING WIN FOR THE CUBS IN GAME 1 10 RULING THE MUSTANGS.

IN GAME 2 THE BATS STAYED HOT WITH 8 HITS. DEVYN ENGDAHL WHO HAD HIS 18TH BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY WENT 2 FOR 3 IN GAME 2 AND 4 FOR 7 ON THE DAY WITH 2 RBI’S AND A RUN SCORED.

THE BIRTHDAY BOY WAS ON THE MOUND AS WELL IN GAME 2 AND PERFORMED WELL THROUGH 5  INNINGS THROWING JUST 2 HITS AND ALLOWING 2 RUNS TO GO THROUGH.

THE CUBS FOUND THEMSELVES UP 4 TO NOTHING UNTIL THE LOVELL MUSTANGS RESPONDED WITH A 2 RUN BOTTOM OF THE 5TH.

TRISTAN BLATT WAS ABLE TO COME IN RELIEF FOR THE LAST 2 INNINGS AND NOT ALLOW A SINGLE RUN WHILE THE CUBS WOULD TACK ON 6 MORE RUNS IN THE 7TH INNING TO ENSURE THE WIN WITH A SCORE OF 10 TO 2.

WITH THE WINS THE CUBS IMPROVE TO 24-13, WINNING 15 OF THEIR LAST 16. THE CUBS WILL HOST THE CODY LIONS TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND AT MILWARD L SIMPSON STADIUM WHERE THEY WILL HAVE 6 GAMES THROUGH THE WEEKEND BEGINNING FRIDAY AT 2:30 AND 6:30.
