Cody Bronc Wrestling Update
Written by Cole Havens on February 13, 2020
IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE BUT THE WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING SEASON IS COMING TO A CLOSE. MANY TEAMS ARE GETTING ONE LAST MEET IN THIS WEEKEND AS THEY PREPARE FOR REGIONAL TOURNAMENT NEXT WEEK. FOR THE CODY BRONC GRAPPLERS, THEY WILL BE HOSTING TWO EVENTS TODAY AND TOMORROW TO CLOSE OUT THEIR REGULAR SEASON. WITH A PAIR OF MATCHES AT HOME, IT’S A CHANCE TO SHOWCASE THEIR SKILLS IN FRONT OF THEIR HOME CROWD FOR JUST THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR. CHARLIE BEAUDRIE LEADS THE BRONCS, AT 195 POUNDS, WAS A STATE WINNER A YEAR AGO AND SUMS UP HOW THIS SEASON HAS GONE.
“I THINK ITS BEEN A GREAT SEASON. I MEAN, I’M DOING WELL, THE TEAMS DOING WELL, MY LITTLE BROTHERS DOING WELL. SO, EVERYONE’S DOING REALLY GOOD. WE HAVE A YOUNG CREW, BUT THEY’RE PERFORMING PRETTY DANG GOOD.”
CHARLIE GOES ON TO ADD WHERE THE BRONCS HAVE IMPROVED THE MOST AS THE SEASON HAS GONE ON.
“I THINK THAT WE’VE REALLY IMPROVED IN CONDITIONING AND JUST HAVING THAT DRIVE THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE ENTIRE MATCH. JUST KEEP GOING AND KEEP GOING AND NOT JUST GIVE UP.”
AS DISCUSSED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR THIS IS A CLOSE GROUP OF SENIORS. BOTH CHARLIE AND JEFF WILLIAMS WERE TEAMMATES ON THE GRIDIRON AND NOW THE MATS. CHARLIE ON COMPETING WITH HIS MATES.
“IT’S GREAT. I MEAN, COMPETING THEM WITH FOOTBALL AND WITH WRESTLING. ALTHOUGH, WRESTLING IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THING BUT WE STILL GET THAT FRIENDSHIP AND THAT CAMARADERIE WITH EACH OTHER. IT’S REALLY COOL.”
THE CODY BRONC WRESTLING TEAM WILL BE ON THEIR HOME MAT ONE FINAL TIME TODAY AND TOMORROW, THEN IT’S OFF TO THE REGIONAL TOURNAMENT. THE BRONC GRAPPLERS HOST GREYBULL TODAY WITH THE MATCH GETTING UNDERWAY AT 6PM. TOMORROW THE CODY GRAPPLERS WILL HOST BOTH POWELL AND WORLAND. CODY WILL TAKE ON THE WARRIORS AT 6:30PM FRIDAY EVENING.
