Written by on March 10, 2017

Wyoming Authentic Products of Cody came away from yesterday’s Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors meeting with approval for a grant that will allow their business to grow.

The Business Council yesterday considered six Business Ready Community grants during its meeting in Casper.

Wyoming Authentic Products was recommended for full funding on a $748 thousand dollar expansion project that will add preparation, packaging and smoker capacity to its existing facility on the east side of Cody. The expansion will allow for 10 new jobs in the next three years, which will pay over $43,000 per year.

GT Aeronautics of Powell was also recommended for full funding for a $435 thousand dollar grant to construct a light industrial manufacturing building. The company specializes in the manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs.

The Business Council board will forward these grant recommendations to the State Loan and Investment Board, which is comprised of the five statewide elected officials. Final approval will take place at their meeting April 6th in Cheyenne.
