Cody Campground Earns High Honors from KOA

The Cody Kampgrounds of America Holiday has earned two of the highest honors available to the 515 KOA locations across the United States and Canada.
During the Annual International Convention, held Tuesday during the organization’s 58th anniversary, the Cody campground received the 2021 KOA Founder’s and KOA President’s Awards. Both are awarded to campgrounds that consistently demonstrate high standards in customer service and high scores from guests and KOA reviews.
The KOA Founder’s Award was named in honor of Dave Drum, the founder of KOA. Its first location was established along the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962.
The Founder’s Award is the highest service award offered by KOA. It is awarded exclusively to KOA campground owners and managers who attain world-class scores in both customer service and the KOA Quality Review.
The KOA President’s Award is presented to campgrounds who meet KOA’s exceptional quality standards and receive high customer service scores from their camping guests. KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience.
Campgrounds that qualify for the Founder’s Award also receive the President’s Award for their outstanding service and commitment to all KOA campers.
Both KOA guests and the upper management of the organization had a hand in highlighting the high caliber of the Cody KOA Holiday Campground.
Other KOA campgrounds to receive the Founder’s Award in Wyoming include:
- Buffalo KOA Journey
- Cheyenne KOA Journey
- Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA Journey
- Douglas KOA Journey
- Dubois / Wind River KOA Holiday
- Greybull KOA Holiday
- Lyman KOA Journey
KOA campgrounds have also been established in Casper, Laramie, Rock Springs, Rawlins, and Sheridan.
KOA President and CEO Toby O’Rourke recognize the hard work that the Cody staff put into their service and facilities, mentioning that thousands of guests are surveyed every year to reflect on their experiences at each KOA site. It makes Cody’s awards even more prestigious.
“Our President’s and Founder’s Awards are driven by camper feedback and, especially this year, it really points to the work that’s been done to ensure each camper has the best outdoor experience,” O’Rouke said. “These KOA owners have made the right investments in their campgrounds to make them the very best in North America.”
The Cody KOA Holiday at 5562 Greybull Highway has an Overall Camper Rating of 4½ out of 5 stars on their official KOA website.
