Cody Cubs Regular Season Finale Called Off Due to Weather

The Cody Cubs took to their home stadium for one final time in the regular season and things would end with a cancellation due to a Lightning Storm.

The game was officially called off with two outs in the top of the 8th inning due to weather and never resumed. Cody never got a chance to bat in the bottom of the 8th. The score was 8-6 Billings when the game was called off.

Billings got on the board with a 4-run 4th and the Cubs had to play catch up all night. They would answer with 2 in the bottom half and tacked on 2 more in the 3rd to cut the lead to 1, 5-4.

After Billings scored 1 in the 7th, Cody answered with 2 of their own, officiallyh tying up the game at 6 due to a passed ball.

Jace Jarrett would get the start and pitched 3 innings, gave up 5 hits, 5 runs (3 earned) and struck out 4.

Ben Reinker came on in relief and went 4 innings of 3 hit ball while giving up 1 run and struck out 3.

Jarrett and Dominic Phillips would each collect a pair of hits in the contest.

Cody officially finishes the regular season with 28 total wins and a 6-2 conference record.

Up Next: Cody will take part in the District Tournament next week in Green River, July 18-20. Cody is the No. 1 seed and has earned a first round bye. Their first game will be Tuesday and 1 in the afternoon against the winner of Lovell vs. Green River.
