Cody Cupboard Brings in 8 Tons of Food

Written by on November 20, 2018

This month’s Cody Cupboard Food Drive brought in almost eight tons of food to help needy families in the community.
After tallying donations last week, the Cody Cupboard Board of Directors announced that during the drive on Saturday, November 3rd, almost 14,000 pounds of food were gathered to stock the shelves at Cody Cupboard. Board Chair Jim Terry says that final incoming donations last week raised the total to 15,829 pounds of non-perishable food items that will be distributed to Cody citizens who are in need of assistance.
Additionally, the 24 teams of volunteers that canvassed the neighborhoods on the 3rd, along with people stopping by the Cody Auditorium during the food drive, brought in monetary donations as well. Terry says that the cash received will stretch the food budget and continue to sustain Cody Cupboard in the months to come.
Terry and the board extended their gratitude to the community and the organizations that helped to support the annual food drive.
