Cody Football Claim Playoffs No. 1 Seed with Beatdown of Jackson

The Cody Broncs have secured the Number 1 seed and home field advantage through playoffs with a 48-6 thumping over top ranked Jackson Friday night.
The Cody Broncs would force Jackson to turn it over on downs in the first possession of the game, setting the tone for the entire contest. On the ensuing drive Cody Phillips would find the end zone for the first of his two scores, rushing it in from five yards out. Phillips finished the night with 10 carries for 97 yards and two touchdowns. He added two catches for 60 yards.
The Broncs were dominant on defense, picking off Jackson’s Quarterback, Sadler Smith, twice highlighted by a Nic Talich Pick Six right before the half. Cody also forced two fumbles on defense and Jackson would turn it over on downs three times.

Six different players for the Broncs from Cody would find the endzone: Phillips twice on the ground, Caleb Pryor on a QB keeper, Devyn Engdahl on a one-handed Top Ten type of catch, Nic Talich on his interception return for a TD, Jackson Schroeder on a one yard TD run and Luke Talich on a 77 yard TD run.
The Cody Broncs finished with about 226 rushing yards, 117 passing yards, good for about 350 total yards.
With the win Cody finishes the season 7-1 overall, 4-1 in league play, have claimed the conference title, the number 1 seed and home field advantage through the playoffs.
