Written by on February 9, 2018

The Cody Police Department is asking for help from the public in locating a shoplifting suspect.
The Police Department says a report came in on January 17th of two suspects shoplifting at Walmart. It was discovered that two men had stolen merchandise valued at over $1,900.
The suspects were caught on security surveillance cameras, and one of the suspects was identified as Trevor Brinkerhoff, who was taken into custody and booked at the Park County Detention Center on charges of felony shoplifting and interference. According to Detective Justin Dollard, Brinkerhoff had previously shoplifted merchandise worth almost $400 at the end of December, such as radar detectors, headphones and other miscellaneous electronics.
However, the other suspect is still at large, and the Cody Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying the man. Dollard says that they believe he may be from the Billings area, based on some details the department has uncovered, and the fact that some of the stolen merchandise has been recovered in Billings.

Dollard says that the merchandise that was stolen in January included a laptop computer, computer monitor, and some archery equipment, as well as some other miscellaneous items.
A photo of the suspect at large can be found on the Cody Police Department Facebook page, and is also attached to this story on mybighornbasin.com. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cody Police Department at 527-8700.
