Cody Regional Health’s Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Moves to Stampede Grounds

Written by on October 8, 2020

Effective today, Cody Regional Health has relocated its COVID-19 drive-thru testing site to the Cody Stampede Rodeo Grounds to administer more tests with more time.

The recent influx of COVID-19 cases is contributing to a demand for more testing. To accommodate this, the hospital is relocating its drive-thru testing away from the main West Park Hospital campus.

In addition, testing will be offered on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday beginning at 8 a.m.

Cody Regional Health CCO Keith Ungrund says the relocation of the drive-thru testing is directly related to increased demand for testing in Cody, due to the rising number of COVID exposures and confirmed cases seen in the last few weeks.

The tests will continue being administered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The type of test administered can change based on the hospital’s supply and availability – and that can change daily. At most, it will take seven days to receive a test’s results.

Each individual test costs $25. Cash will not be taken so be prepared to pay by check, debit, or credit card.

“CRH recognizes the value and importance of having the ability to access drive-thru testing as we are seeing some community members with mild symptoms not sick enough for the Walk-in Clinic or Emergency Room,” states Doug McMillan, CEO at Cody Regional Health. “Our staff recognizes the importance of this service and we would like to continue as long as feasible and based on available resources. We thank everyone for their patience as we do our best to navigate around this national pandemic.”

Park County Public Health will be holding its own drive-thru at the Cody Stampede Rodeo Grounds for 2020 seasonal flu shots. The shots will be administered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Costs are $25 dollars for adults and $20 for kids, with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance all accepted.
