Cody Soccer Teams Dominating on the Road
Written by Cole Havens on May 3, 2023
The Cody Soccer teams have been road warriors as of late.
It seems like forever since they played a game at home. Their last home contest was April 12th, almost a full month ago.
That hasn’t fazed them one bit.
After contests against Lander and Green River, the Fillies scorching hot play continuted with an 11-1 dismantling of Pinedale.
Then, last Thursday, the Fillies would travel to Buffalo where they would earn the tough 5-2 victory.
They then took on their Park County Rivals for the final time, this regular season, on Friday, and capped off the week with a superb 9-2 win.
The teams were tied at the half 1-1. The Fillies exploded in the 2nd, scoring 4 times in a matter of 5 minutes to secure the victory.
The Broncs, during that span, were not to be outdone.
Against Pinedale, Matt Nelson recorded a hat trick as the Broncs won 3-0.
Vs. Buffalo the Broncs got the shutout, winning 2-0.
Against their Park County Rivals, the Broncs would earn a little revenge. After losing to the Panthers earlier in the seasion, Cody would pick up the 2-0 win on Saturday as they are now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Fillies lead all of Class 3A with a 10-0 overall record, 8-0 in conference play, 1st in the West.
The Broncs are now 7-3 on the season, 6-2 in conference play and sit in 3rd place in the 3A West.
Up Next for Cody Soccer: They conclude their month long road trip at Mountain View and Lyman May 4th and 5th.
