Cody Wins Big Horn Brawl for Third Straight Year

THE SECOND RANKED CODY BRONCS SCORED 31 POINTS IN THE FIRST HALF AND RAN AWAY WITH THE BIGHORN TROPHY FRIDAY NIGHT DEFEATING THEIR CROSS-COUNTY RIVAL THE POWELL PANTHERS IN THE BIGHORN BRAWL 38-14.

THE BRONCS OPENED UP THE GAME SCORING 17 UNANSWERED POINTS. AFTER A BLOCKED PUNT THAT LED TO 7 POINTS FOR THE PANTHERS CODY WOULD THEN SCORE 14 IN A ROW TO TAKE A 31-7 LEAD INTO HALFTIME.

THE THIRD QUARTER GOT OFF TO A SLUGGISH START AS BOTH TEAMS THREW INTERCEPTIONS AND IT WAS THE ONLY QUARTER WHERE NO POINTS WERE SCORED.

BOTH TEAMS WOULD TRADE TOUCHDOWNS IN THE FOURTH QUARTER BUT THE BRONCS PROVED TO BE TO MUCH IN THE END.

CODY WAS LED BY CHAZ COWIE’S 62 RUSHING YARDS AND 2 RUSH TOUCHDOWNS. NIC TALICH HAD 50 YARDS ON THE GROUND AND A SCORE WHILE MATT SANDOVAL ADDED 27 YARDS. HUNTER HAYS HAD 2 RUSH ATTEMPTS AND 2 RUSH TOUCHDOWNS.

WITH THE WIN CODY REMAINS UNDEFEATED ON THE SEASON AT 6-0 AND UP NEXT IS A CLASH WITH THE NUMBER ONE RANKED STAR VALLEY BRAVES FOR SENIOR NIGHT. A LOT WILL BE ON THE LINE OCTOBER 18TH AT SPIKE VANNOY STADIUM AS THE NUMBER ONE SEED FOR THE PLAYOFFS WILL BE UP FOR GRABS.
