The Cody Bronc Wrestling team officially gets their 2020-2021 campaign underway this wekend. This will the the first competitive wrestling the Cody grapplers have had against someone other than themselves for the first time this year. Taking a look at the Bronc grapplers as they get set to host their first event of the season.
Last year Cody Broncs took home sixth place at the State Tournament. As 2020 gets underway just two of the five Broncs that placed at state return to the team this season. Brady Deming returns after finishing fourth at 145 pounds a year ago. Grayson Beaudrie was fifth at 170 pounds a year ago. Those two look to be key cogs for the Broncs this year.
While the Broncs have just two State placers return many Broncs that competed at the State tournament also return.
Some other names to watch this season that competed at state a year ago, include: Ghavin Vance, Dylan Campbell, Jackson Wood, Drew Trotter, Will Thomasson, Keaton Stone, Jace Grant, Jonas Mickelson, Johnny Williams and Danny Becker.
The Cody Broncs will be home for their first wrestling matches of the season this weekend. Friday they host Worland, Sheridan, Riverton, Thunder Basin and Natrona. On Saturday they host Thunder Basin, Riverton and Campbell County. All the action on Friday gets underway at 9am. Saturday’s wrestling will start at 11am.
