Construction is set to resume on the Southfork.
Starting next Monday, April 6th, work will resume on the Southfork Road construction project on – Project WY FLAP WX(1) undertaken by the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration’s Office of Federal Lands Highway. The entire scope of the project is for full-depth reclamation of approximately 6 miles of pavement, minor shoulder widening, and re-graveling 7 miles of the existing base segment of the road.
Ben McDonald of the Park County Public Works Department has laid out the process and delays local residents can expect as they travel along the Southfork through the project’s duration. Work on the road will take place Mondays thru Saturdays until completion, with traffic control and pilot cars in place. Waits could be as long as 20 minutes. Anyone traveling along the road is advised to use extra caution for the safety of the construction worker along the route.
The date of completion for the entire project, with ideal conditions and cooperation, is July 3rd 2020.
