THE CODY CUBS WOULD GET THE STATE A TOURNAMENT STARTED WITH A BANG THIS WEEKEND DEFEATING TORRINGTON IN THE FIRST GAME OF THE DAY SATURDAY 5-0. THEN ON SUNDAY CODY DOWNED CASPER BY A SCORE OF 10-5.
IN GAME 1 OF THE TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY DEVYN ENGDAHL TO TO THE MOUND AND WOULD THROW A COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT, ALLOWING JUST 4 HITS, WALKED ONE AND STRUCK OUT 7.
OFFENSIVELY THE CUBS GOT THINGS GOING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 5TH, SCORING 4 RUNS TO HOLD OFF TORRINGTON THANKS IN LARGE PART TO A 2-RBI TRIPLE OFF THE BAT OF TRISTAN BLATT.
IN CODY’S SECOND GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT THE CUBS WOULD USE THEIR OFFENSE TO BLOW BY CASPER. THE CUBS SCORED 4 RUNS IN THE FOURTH INNING AND WOULD SCORE AT LEAST 1 PLUS RUN IN 5 OF THE 7 INNINGS PLAYED.
