On May 11th, Dolly Parton will be hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards with Garth Brooks. They are ready to take on this year’s festivities.
In this clip, the “I Will Always Love You” singer, who hosted last year, gives a pep talk to first-time host Brooks. Brooks, 61, reveals to Parton, 77, that he is “a little nervous to be honest. First time and all.” Parton responded, “Oh don’t be nervous, I’m gonna be right here with you.”
In a press release, Parton shared that she is “thrilled” to return as the host of the ACM Awards with her friend Brooks. “While I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with him throughout the years, I can’t believe we’ve never had the chance to work together.”
The “Friends in Low Places” singer also shared his excitement for the festivities in a Billboard interview with Parton. “All I hope that we do as a pair is represent [country music] well.” He continued, gesturing to Parton sitting next to him, “You’ve got talent and class. Let’s represent country music the best that we can.”
The 58th annual award show co-hosts, Brooks and Parton, were announced in March. The pair will be taking the stage at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas and the ceremony will air live on May 11th at 8pm ET exclusively on Prime Video.
