An arrest made at Northwest College on Friday brings an end to an ongoing drug investigation by local law enforcement and campus security.
On Friday, students and staff at Northwest College were notified that an ongoing investigation involving one of the students had concluded with the arrest of that student and the seizure of heroin. According to an email sent by College President Stefani Hicswa, the student was believed to be receiving and dealing drugs in the Powell community. Friday morning the student was arrested, and an unknown amount of heroin was seized.
In her email, Hicswa expressed the college’s gratitude for local Law Enforcement’s diligent efforts to keep the community, and the campus, safe. She added that the administration was hopeful that this incident would be a reminder that some students may be at risk for drug abuse, and the information about the arrest could be useful as a starting point to have constructive conversations.
