Dunraven Pass Remains Open

Although construction at Fishing Bridge means that entering Yellowstone Park through the East Entrance will be impossible as of next Monday, Park officials are hoping to alleviate traffic delays by keeping another route open.
The Park released a notice yesterday that Dunraven Pass will remain open to all travel until November 5th, weather permitting, when most of the roads in the Park will close to prepare for winter travel. The pass was scheduled to close yesterday, but Park managers made the decision to keep the pass open as long as possible to alleviate traffic delays from the upcoming Fishing Bridge closure, which will begin Monday.
From October 15th through November 5th, the East Entrance road will remain open as far as Sedge Bay. But people needing to travel through Yellowstone to and from Cody will need to use the Northeast Entrance.
Conditions permitting, all other roads besides the East Entrance will open to oversnow travel by snowmobile and snowcoach at 8 am on December 15th.
