Economic Benefits of Eclipse To Be Determined

Written by on August 23, 2017

Although the estimates of visitor numbers are rolling in, the economic impact from the increased visitation has yet to be determined.
Claudia Wade with the Park County Travel Council says that the Cody Visitor Center is taking part in a seven day survey of travelers that will end today, which should give the Wyoming Office of Tourism a better picture of how the state will benefit economically from this once in a lifetime event.

The office of tourism will compile data from the comprehensive study on visitor numbers and the eclipse’s economic impact on Wyoming. Tourism Director Diane Shober says the surveys were conducted in all 23 counties.
