Error in Park County Absentee Ballots
Written by Andrew-Rossi on October 2, 2018
New absentee ballots are in the mail this week, after the Park County Clerk’s Office discovered an error in the wording on the 2018 General Election ballot.
According to a news release sent out by Park County Clerk Colleen Renner yesterday, the error was limited to those absentee ballots that have already been sent to voters in the race for Park County School District 6 Board of Trustees.
The ballot incorrectly instructed voters to choose up to four school board candidates – instead, only three candidates can be selected for that office.
First Deputy County Clerk Hans Odde says that replacement absentee ballots will be mailed to every voter who requested a ballot that contained that error, and that voters who already received their ballot should destroy it and wait for the replacement to arrive. The new ballots should be sent out no later than tomorrow.
Absentee voting is currently ongoing throughout Wyoming. Anyone with questions can call the Clerk’s Office at 307-527-8600.
