Fatal Crash Shuts Down Hwy 120 Tuesday

Written by on May 9, 2018

A fatal crash shut down highway 120 yesterday afternoon between Meeteetse and Thermopolis.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol hasn’t released any details of the crash, but according to Cody Beers with the Wyoming Department of Transportation, there were multiple fatalities.
The crash occurred 26 miles south of Meeteetse, and closed the highway in both directions for several hours, while authorities worked to contain the scene. Both vehicles burned in the incident, in which a pickup and a larger truck hit head on. Beers says that the crash allegedly involved alcohol use.
The highway opened up again at 6:15 yesterday evening. We’ll bring you more on this story as information becomes available.
