The Cody basketball teams were back in action as they trekked over to Casper for a Tuesday afternoon tilt with Kelly Walsh and came away with a sweep.

Let’s begin with a look at the Fillies who clinched the 4A Northwest Conference Regular Season Title with a 71-45 victory over the Lady Trojans.

The Fillies got off the bus and hit the hardwood for their contest 45 minutes later. That didn’t seem to have an impact on their offense.

Molly Hays was cooking all day as she dropped in 32 points, 2-shy of her career high. She had 15 in the 3rd quarter.

The Fillies would score 35 first half points and held an 18 point lead at the intermission.

Then in the 3rd frame the Fillies would drop in 25 points to help pull away as they secured their 18th straight win.

Reece Niemann added 13 for the Fillies who have won 18 straight this season.

The Fillies have now won 39 straight regular season games dating back to the 2020-21 season.

In the second of the double header, Wilkins Radakovich would have a game high 15 and the Broncs held off a late rally to defeat the Trojans 51-49.

It was a back-and-forth affair with neither team really able to gain any advantage as Kelly Walsh would take a 28-26 lead into the halftime locker room.

The Broncs would then take over in the 3rd quarter. Cody outscored Kelly Walsh 18-11 in the frame as 6 different players scored and took a 44-39 advantage into the final frame.

The Broncs would build a late 48-41 lead but the Trojans battled back with the long ball.

With just 1.4 on the clock, Cody led by 2 and the Trojans missed a deep three at the buzzer that secured the Broncs 6th straight win.

Following all the action, the Broncs are now 10-8 on the season, 3-2 in conference play.

Up Next: Both teams are scheduled to host Riverton, on Friday, weather permitting. Friday night is also supposed to be senior night for the Cody b-ball teams. The girls are set to play at 6pm, with the boys to follow. All the action will be aired live on KODI.
