Fillies Hold Strong at No. 2 in Latest Wyopreps Rankings

The latest Wyopreps coaches and media basketball poll has been released.

This is the fifth edition of the year to be released by Wyopreps. Rankings are selected in voting by coaches and media around the state.

Starting on the girls side. Following their win over Sheridan your Cody Fillies stand alone as the No. 2 ranked team, in 4A, once again. They are just one of two remaining undefeated teams in Class 4A. Cheyenne East is the other undefeated and is No. 1. Thunder Basin is now third with Natrona County dropping to four and Sheridan falls to five.

In Class 3A, on the girls side. Douglas sits on top with Lyman second. Pindeale moves up to three with Newcastle now fourth and Buffalo is five.

In Class 2A, it’s Wyoming Indian still on top after their loss to Lovell. Moorcroft is second. Rocky Mountain holds onto No. 3 with Glenrock now four and Sundance five.

And in 1A, Upton is No. 1. Southeast is second with Burlington jumping up to No. 3. Cokeville is four and Little Snake River is five.

Over on the boys side of the rankings, starting in 4A. Thunder Basin is No. 1 with Kelly Walsh second, Sheridan third and Cheyenne East four. Cheyenne Central and Laramie are now in a tie for five.

In Class 3A, Douglas remains on top with Buffalo now second. Worland is third.Rawlins holds as four with Kemmerer now No. 5.

In Class 2A, Pine Bluffs and Tongue River are first and second, respectivley. Wind River jumps up to third. Rocky Mountain is down to fourth. Shoshoni enters the rankings, now, as No. 5.

And in 1A, Upton sits on top as No. 1. Dubois moves up to second. Saratoga is now third with Farson-Eden four. Burlington and Encampment are tied for fifth.
