Fire Danger Very High in YNP
Written by Andrew-Rossi on August 10, 2018
Yellowstone’s fire danger has been raised to very high.
While there are currently no fire restrictions in the park, the heightened fire danger encourages visitors to take extra precautions. As always, campfires are only permitted in fire rings in campgrounds and some backcountry campsites. All campfires must be cold to the touch before abandoning. Fireworks are not allowed in the park or on other federal lands.
There are two fires burning in the Park at this time – the Folsom Fire, which was discovered this weekend; and the Bacon Rind Fire, which has burned 551 acres on the west side of Yellowstone.
