Fire Weather Could Worsen This Week

Written by on September 10, 2018

Critical fire weather conditions are possible this week in Wyoming.
According to officials at the National Weather Service, a developing southwest flow across the area will bring in warm, dry weather this week along with periods of gusty southwest wind, especially during the afternoon and evening hours each day.
Fire weather conditions will likely worsen, with elevated to possibly critical fire weather conditions returning. However, a shallow cold front will impact the northern part of the state at times from Tuesday onward.
Outdoor burning is highly discouraged during this weather pattern, as are activities that produce sparks, such as grinding and welding. Avoid parking in high grass and drown your campfires.
