Flag Day Ceremony in Cody

In the midst of a sea of red, white, and blue, a small ceremony at the Courthouse yesterday commemorated Flag Day in Cody.
Residents gathered to honor the flags that surrounded them at the Field of Honor in front of the Park County Courthouse. The local VFW posted the colors, the National Anthem was sung, and retired District Judge Steven Cranfill led the participants in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Field of Honor organizer Jenny Zink told attendees that 92 of the flags posted on the Courthouse lawn had been sold, but 125 of them were as yet unclaimed and were still available for purchase through Saturday.
The flags are being sold as a fundraiser for the Cody Heritage Museum, which opened to the public earlier this month.
