The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking for public input on hunting seasons.
For the next couple of weeks, the Department is conducting six open-house meetings throughout the Bighorn Basin with one final meeting in Cody to discuss 2019 hunting season proposals for game birds and big game.
Corey Class, wildlife management coordinator for the Cody area, says public input is valued and an important part of the season setting process.
Meetings are scheduled for Monday, March 18th, in Powell at the Park County Fairgrounds and in Worland at the Washakie County Fairgrounds. On Tuesday, March 19, they will be in Meeteetse at the Conservation District Office and in Greybull at Town Hall; and the next week there will be meetings on Monday, March 25th in Thermopolis at Big Horn Federal and at the Lovell Fire Hall. All meetings will be at 6 p.m.
A final meeting, during which statewide seasons may be discussed, will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 28 at the Park County Library in Cody.
Written comments may be submitted at the meetings, online or by mail to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, and must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 1st.
