Northwest College is jazzing up their next festival with Grammy caliber artists.
The College will host its 37th Annual Northwest Jazz Festival on February 25th, which will not only feature guest artists in concerts and performances, but have them give instruction and high-quality assessments to the students in the college’s music programs and any young musicians looking for pointers for their musical careers.
Headlining the festival is three-time Grammy nominated saxophonist Bob Sheppard, who’s worked with some of jazz’s most legendary artists and contributed to hundreds of movie and TV soundtracks. He has recorded and toured as a headliner, and is seen as one of jazz’s premiere educators.
Also featured this year is a Vocal Jazz Quartet säje. The quartet features Sara Gazarek, who was nominated for two Grammys this year, Amanda Taylor, Johnaye Kendrick and Erin Bentlage. They have each garnered acclaim as individual artists and now are now bringing their collective voices to this union with a mix of original material, contemporary re-imaginings and jazz standards.
