The Cody Basketball teams were back in action over the weekend and both teams came away with a weekend sweep.

The Fillies would collect a 76-24 win over Evanston and defeated Green River 78-43. Meanwhile, the Broncs would defeat Evanston 76-43 and downed Green River 53-38.

The highlight of the weekend came Friday night when Molly Hays scored her 1,000th career point. In addition, Hays put up a career high 34 in the win vs. Evanton.

Hays would accomplish the feat on a 3-pointer late in the 3rd quarter.

The Fillies got off to another hot start vs. the Lady Red Devils as they held a 51-17 lead after the first half. Evanston would only manage 7 2nd half points vs. Cody.

On Saturday, it was the Victory Buck show for the Fillies. Vic had arguably her best game as a Filly vs. Green River. She went off for 20 points while knocking down 4 3’s in the contest.

5 Fillies would score in double figures in the game.

Cody would drop in 27 in the second quarter to lead the way.

Taking a look at the Broncs, who seem to have turned a corner.

The Broncs got out to an 8-0 lead after 1, on Friday. They never looked back and were up 24-5 after the 1st quarter and took a 41-16 lead into the intermission.

4 Broncs would score in double figures in the contest, 10 total players scored. And the 76 points is a season high.

On Saturday, the Broncs battled the Green River Wolves and showed tremendous grit.

Trey Schroeder was the story in this one. Schroeder was the 1st off the bench for coach McCarten and the Broncs, and didn’t disappoint.

Schroeder played tremendous defense and dropped in 9-points while providing a spark for Cody. Schroeder capped off the day with a highlight reel play. He drove the lane, faked the pass, rose up and laid it in while being fouled.

The Broncs continue to show that they have what it takes to make a run.

Following the weekend’s action the Fillies remain undefeated on the season, now 16-0.

The Broncs are currently riding a 4-game win streak and they sit at 8-8 on the year.

It’s hard to believe but both teams have just 3 game remaining on the season.

They’re back in action, Friday, as they travel to Casper for a clash with Kelly Walsh.

Both teams play host to Rock Springs on Saturday.
