Written by on February 12, 2021

Early this morning Worland is going to be around -15 degrees. The temperature will rise to -7 during the day and will maintain a 50% chance of snow. The cold weather and snow gripping the state have triggered two weather notices from the National Weather Service in Riverton.

The special notice regarding the temperature describes “bitter cold and wind chill in the area” and highlights the importance of ensuring skin is completely covered with multiple layers as well as avoiding being outside in windy areas for prolonged periods of time.

The Hazardous Weather Outlook notice is focused around the snowfall that is expected across the state. Today significant snowfall is expected to fall with “very cold temperatures east of the Divide.” The snow will continue to fall more heavily in the west with lighter snow and bitter temperatures lingering east of the Divide on Saturday – Thursday.

**This post will be updated as the day progresses due the potential for severe weather**
