Homes Threatened on Squaw Creek

The conditions on Squaw Creek Road near Crandall have taken a turn for the worse.
Park County Engineer Brian Edwards received word yesterday that at least 2 cabins in the vicinity of the slide on County Road XUX have slid at least partially down the hill towards the County Road. He said it appears that structural damage to these two homes is substantial.
Edwards adds that their office is not aware of any other structures that are in immediate jeopardy at this time – however, the ground remains very unstable, so further movement and shifting of nearby surface soils is likely.
Edwards says that the County Road will remain closed until repairs can be made.
