How Many Americans think they can Beat up a Grizzly?

Written by on May 26, 2021

A few weeks ago, a survey got released stating that 6% of Americans think they can beat up a grizzly bear.

This sheds a light on how arrogant a lot of us really are, myself included. I watch professional sports all the time and still regularly have the thought of, “I could have done that better.”

Hint: I can’t.

Just like none of us could EVER even dream of going toe to claw with a grizzly and coming out victorious. Well, I guess 6% of people did.

A random man on the Twitterverse responded with a pretty cool photo of a grizzly bear paw that shows just how massive their paws really are.

These pictures were taken five years ago in Anchorage, Alaska after the animal was shot and killed. The link shows a picture of the paw with a measuring tape measuring the width to be 10 inches!

I think it’s probably a good thing to remind ourselves as humans that we are on the top of the food chain thanks to verbal communication and thumbs, not our ability to take on huge animals in fights.

The survey included votes on what animals would win against other animals as well as humans. Elephants along with rhinos won out the vote scoring 74% with tigers in second and bears rounding out the top three.
