Injured Worker Causes Traffic Delay

An injured worker on the rockfall project west of Cody yesterday caused an hour-long delay for drivers traveling highway 14-16-20 near the tunnels.
Cody Beers with the Wyoming Department of Transportation says that a rock fell onto one of the workers during the rock removal project. He says because emergency services needed to access the site and tend to the injured man, the road needed to be shut down going both directions, which caused some drivers to react in anger to the workers on scene.
Beers says that safety is the number one priority at WYDOT, especially for workers and the traveling public. He says that the man who was injured is currently at a hospital in Billings, but had no information as to his current status.
